I’m Julia Gats Chase — Registered Dietitian, ACSM Certified Exercise Physiologist, and former lead of Riverdance.
My path to becoming a nutrition professional began as a competitive and professional Irish dancer, quickly learning how critical proper fueling is for endurance, strength, and recovery. While touring internationally with Riverdance, I experienced firsthand how nutrition can profoundly impact energy levels, resilience, and overall well-being — a realization that sparked my commitment to helping others harness the power of food to unlock their full potential.
My education includes a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics, followed by a Master of Science in Nutrition and Exercise Physiology. These programs strengthened my understanding of how nutrition and movement work together to support both peak performance and lifelong health. In addition to my private practice, I also work clinically at a leading children’s hospital, supporting patients from infancy through young adulthood in intensive care and oncology settings. I am also a certified Irish Dance teacher (TCRG), coaching dancers at the world championship level.
Through The Nourished Athlete, I offer personalized, one-on-one virtual nutrition counseling for athletes of all levels, fitness enthusiasts, and anyone seeking to improve their health through food. My background as both a professional athlete and coach allows me to bring empathy, practicality, and real-world insight into every session.
As a Registered Dietitian, I uphold the highest professional standards, including a master’s degree, over 1,200 supervised practice hours, and ongoing education to ensure my guidance is grounded in the latest evidence-based research.

Registered Dietitians (RDs) are highly trained nutrition professionals who complete a Master's degree, at least 1,200 hours of supervised practice, and pass a national credentialing exam. This rigorous training sets RDs apart from unlicensed or self-proclaimed nutrition coaches, ensuring you receive evidence-based, personalized guidance from a qualified expert.
One-on-one sessions are conducted via Practice Better, a secure nutrition telehealth platform.
Sessions must be cancelled 24 hours prior to your scheduled appointment to avoid a cancellation fee.
